The Letter Project |
Help us make history accessible!
The Clarke County Historical Association Archive is undertaking a MASSIVE project - it is our goal to eventually digitize and transcribe every letter in our collection, and organize that information into a system that is easy to use and navigate. But in order to accomplish this, we need all the help we can get!
How you can help
We need transcribers! Someone to read through the old letters and type (or write) out what is already written - but in a clearer, formulaic manner.
The cool thing about this project is...you can stay home! Gain access to our letters from this site, and work at your own pace in your own space! Simply open the file you'd like to work on, and send us the end result - you can accomplish as much or as little as you like, and we'll do the editing.

Guidelines
In order to be effective, all transcriptions should follow the same format in the end. These are the rules and guidelines CCHA and volunteers will be adhering to. Please refer to it whenever necessary - and if you have questions, never hesitate to ask!
